Nicola Doughty

Registered Clinical Counsellor

Nicola Doughty is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with over 15 years of experience helping people work through their toughest problems using an integrated trauma-informed approach of existential, narrative and attachment theories. Nicola enjoys co-creating compassionate and non-judgmental spaces where genuine, magical ‘a-ha’ moments occur. Nicola is committed to assisting women and families to work through any areas in which they find themselves stuck.

Sessions are based in a trauma-informed, emotion-focused, experiential, and relational perspective with mindful attention to your mind, body, and heart connection. While working with Nicola, you will focus on creating a trusting therapeutic relationship where you can explore and process difficult experiences and emotions using a variety of strategies and techniques.

By slowing down and accessing difficult experiences and emotions, greater space for vitality, flexibility and ease can open up in your life and help you release the bonds of old narratives. With the support of counselling your natural capacity for learning, healing, and growth can emerge leading to a more authentic and meaningful relationship both with yourself and in your relationships with others.
