Valerie Hamilton
Practicum Counsellor
Valerie (she/her) is a graduate student completing her Master of Counselling degree from City University. As a counsellor, her goal is to provide a space where people can feel seen, heard, and valued.
Valerie believes our relationships with each other and with ourselves are integral to our emotional health. With extensive experience working with children and families, a long-time member of the corporate sector, and a mom of four teens, Valerie understands the importance of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-determination, and identifies these as key contributors to personal growth. She believes in the power of understanding who we are and what has shaped us so we can understand how to get where we want to go.
Valerie strives to create a warm, safe, and supportive therapeutic environment in which to cultivate self-compassion, healing, empowerment, and hope as she works alongside individuals navigating through various life challenges, including anxiety, depression, disordered eating, relationship challenges, and parenting issues.
She loves to laugh, work up a sweat, adventure, and cannot pass a farmer’s market without stopping.
